First Children's Embassy of the World - Medjashi

FCEWM is an international non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit association dedicated to the care of all the children in the world. Prior to the eruption of war in what used to be known as Yugoslavia, on August 6, 1991, the First Children's Country in the World - Medjashi was founded in a small corner of the country bordering Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia. In 1992, Medjashi began organizing the evacuation of tens of thousands of mothers and children from all denominations and nationalities out of Bosnia-Herzegovina to safety. When conditions were too difficult in Sarajevo, its “Embassy” relocated to Macedonia on April 29, 1992, where it continued this work. Today, FCEWM has over 25,000 members throughout the world - children and adults alike - as well as a large number of supporters and partner organizations.
